Call for Papers & Posters

The LAI/CILIP Annual Joint Conference 2023 will take place on 26th and 27th April 2023 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dundalk, Co. Louth. The Conference will address the theme of ‘Libraries Making a Difference’. The LAI/CILIP Ireland would like to hear from members and non-members about the inspiring work happening in libraries of all types.

Suggested Topics

We invite proposals for presentations that relate to all types of libraries and information centres and may include the following topics that address our theme:

  • Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Libraries
  • Creativity & Innovation in libraries
  • Libraries Partnering & Collaborating
  • Libraries’ Role in the Promotion of Sustainability
  • Future Trends in the Development of Libraries

The deadline for submissions is midnight, Wednesday 1 February 2023.

Notification of whether abstracts have been successful will be sent during the week beginning 17 February 2023.

Those who have been successful must confirm their acceptance and attendance at the conference no later than 5pm 28 February 2023.

 

An abstract can be submitted for Parallel Papers or Posters:

 

Parallel Papers: 20-minute presentation followed by questions

Submit a 300 word (max) abstract describing what the presentation is about

Parallel papers should be:

  • A practically based presentation on a completed or current project that showcases the conference theme of inclusive libraries
  • Presenters may be required to participate in panel Q&A sessions at the end of the parallel session
  • Presenters may be recorded for live streaming. A recording of their presentation and a copy of their slides may be published online after the conference
  • Parallel papers may be included in either plenary or parallel sessions.
  • Presenters are required to submit the final version of their presentation by 3 April 2023
  • Presentations for parallel papers should be created in MS PowerPoint or as a PDF

 

Posters:

Submit a 100 word (max) abstract describing what the poster is about.

  • Poster presenter(s) are expected to be available during the allocated poster session time(s) on the Conference programme
  • The poster should be of A1 portrait size and professionally printed. Posters should not be mounted on rigid backing as they will be displayed on poster boards
  • Please note all expenses for design and printing are the responsibility of the presenter(s)
  • The final version of the printed poster should be submitted as a PDF file for publishing online post-conference
